Olm (Proteus Anguinus)


Olm or Proteus (Proteus anguinus), is a native amphibian Dinaric karst water flowing through the river Soca near Trieste in Italy, through the southern Slovenia, Croatia southwest and Herzegovina. Olm is the only species in the genus Proteus, the only European species preformance Proteidae family, and the only chordate that inhabit the cave. Olm also called human fish because skin like a human, or salamander cave salamander white.
These animals are able to adapt to the underground in the dark. Although olm amphibians, but he fully live, eat, sleep and even breed in the water.
